ABOUT MASS-SS

Established in May 2019, the Mission to Alleviate Suffering in South Sudan (MASS) works with communities to alleviate suffering amongst the most vulnerable groups in South Sudan. MASS is registered as a National Non-Governmental organization (Reg. No. 2273).

MASS was formed following a strategic decision by the parent organization; United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) to establish a local entity to work with communities beyond 2020 when UMCOR exits South Sudan.  The team is headed by an experienced Executive Director and operates in 3 locations of Aweil, Juba and Yei of South Sudan. Currently, MASS has a total of 60 staff working across various sectors.
